Forget The Forms

The same questions,
every time.

Below are five of them, in the words real application forms use.

Application

Each note explains one question. None says what to answer.

Are you legally authorized to work in the United States for our Company? Do you now, or will you in the future, require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status, etc.) to work legally for our Company in the United States?

Authorization and sponsorship

Someone whose visa runs out can truthfully answer yes to both.

Do you have any professional certifications, licenses and/or designations?

Licenses and registrations

One credential, asked several ways: whether you hold it, in which state, and whether anything restricts it.

Current salary Expected salary

Current pay and desired pay

One asks what you earn now. The other asks what you want.

Degree

A degree you haven't finished

The form's list often has no option for one.

Gender
Race
Veteran status
Disability status

The voluntary questions

Optional, and the form says so. “Decline to self-identify” is an answer on the list, not a blank.

It never submits.

Every application stops at the review page, then you review and Submit.

Which systems it works on

It is built to fill the application forms of ten application systems. It also reads jobs on more systems and public job feeds, but shows you only the ones it can fill. Greenhouse, JazzHR and CareerPlug are the ones we have measured it filling; on the other seven it may leave fields, or a whole form, for you to complete.
